Is it safe to conclude that the Maghreb is free from the Aphteous fever or foot-and-mouth disease that is currently ravaging Europe as governments claim? With the strong trade ties that exist between the two regions, there is some likelihood that the problem would reach or may have reached North Africa but so far, there is no evidence of such disease there.
