Maghreb Stock Market Wrap

For the week ended July 6th 2001, the Casa Stock Exchange's general index and the Upline Securities Index lost 2.21% and 5.02% respectively. Official market transactions amounted to Dh 157.1 million, and the bloc market registered Dh 90.8 million. The largest gains were recorded by Unimer (+7.7%), Eqdom (+5.2%), Auto Nejma (+4.8%), and CIH (+4.1%), whereas the main losses were registered by Agma-LT (–12.8%), Papelera (–12.2%), COSUMAR (–10.6%), and Afriquia Gaz (–10.3%). During the same period, the Tunis Stock Exchange's BVMT index and the Tunindex gained 0.68% and 0.16% respectively. The largest increases were STEQ (+10.7%), Monoprix (+3.0%), SFBT (+2.2%), and SIPHAT (+1.4%), whereas the main losses were Palm Beach (–16.0%), SOTETEL (–14.8%), SIMPAR (–13.2%), and Tunisair (–10.2%).
