Morocco: Substantial Rise in Food Prices in 2008 and Temporary Break in 2009
The year 2008 was particularly difficult for the Moroccans, ending with a substantial erosion of household finances.
Food prices, in particular contributed greatly to deteriorating spending conditions. Official data pegged the rise in food prices at 6.8% compared to their 2007 level.
