Software giant Microsoft is expanding its focus on the North Africa region,
where it is facing a set of challenges but also opportunities to grow sales. In
Algeria, the banking sector use of outdated technologies makes any new refresh
cycle difficult to achieve, therefore inhibiting sales of software and
applications. The company dispatched senior executives in late 2008 to share
Microsoft displeasure at the pace in which technology introduction is moving. In
Tunisia, Microsoft and the government agreed on how much the software firm will
