Brazilian Firms to Build Transrhumel Overpass in Constantine, Algeria
Two Brazilian firms have been awarded a contract to build a viaduct known as Transrhumel in the eastern city of Constantine, Algeria.
The two firms are Oderbrecht and Andrade Gutierrez, in partnership with the design firm Cowi, which is in charge of architecting the viaduct.
The overpass will boast two double lanes starting at the Place de l’ONU, on the El-Fedj esplanade, and will end up on the plateau of Mansourah. This would be a stretch of 1,150 meters, with a 20 meter width and 130 meter height. The overpass will help reduce road congestion in the city center of Constantine after it is delivered 32 months from now. The estimated cost is BZB 15 billion.
