It clearly weakened Hamas, from a military standpoint, but so what? And what's next? The Israeli people need an end game so that peace can bring stability, security and promises of better days. The second is the bankrupt strategy of the Arab governments on thee whole Israeli-Palestinian conflict, if indeed they have one. The third is the consequence of the first two, with the region in a permanent state of chaos, benefiting no one. Except obviously the religious extremists on both sides that would like to see no end to the anarchy until some final divine intervention occurs. Unfortunately, the world outside of the region will be forced to be creative and to intervene to stop the Arabs and Israelis from driving themselves into the abyss. Because the Arabs are so divided, they are unlikely to bring a solution to the problem. As for Israel, an American observer noted “that country will need to be saved from itself.
